Japanese Language Education

■NUT has provided various opportunities for international students to learn Japanese language as well as Japanese culture.

Japanese Classes with Credits

■As long as you are studying in Japan, improving your understanding of the Japanese language and culture is as important as your research in your chosen field of study.
Japanese Language courses (assigned by your level) and General Affairs of Japan are offered as regular University courses throughout the year. Guidance and placement interviews are held in early April and September.

Intensive Course

■Intensive Japanese courses are 16-week courses for students receiving scholarship from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as well as self-financed foreign Students. They are offered during the spring and fall semesters.

Basic Japanese Course

■The Basic Japanese course is for foreign students and researchers who have some proficiency in Japanese. This course consists of Basic 1 (elementary-beginner)& 2 (elementary-intermediate).

Study Japanese Off Campus

■Nagaoka City provides various Japanese classes to foreigners in the city according to their levels and needs. You can take those classes at the Civic Center. If you need more information, please contact Nagaoka International Exchange Association or International Affairs Center
